Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping
Named after the butcher Lazer Wolf from the musical Fiddler on the Roof, Laser Wolf is an Israeli grill and skewer house led by executive chef Andrew Henshaw. With a unique style, Henshaw creates dishes cooked on a charcoal grill with your choice of meat and vegetables. A la carte menu items include Kibbe Naya with lamb or foie gras with date molasses. Don’t forget to stick around for seasonal desserts!
The chic and modern Lebanese Suraya offers an incredible restaurant, market, and garden all in one space. The award-winning market features an all-day cafe, grab-and-go items, and kitchenware gifts and the restaurant serves lunch, brunch, and dinner. Their cocktails have been named for the famous Lebanese poet Khalil Gibran and menu items feature ancient Levantine ingredients. Enjoy your meal indoors or experience the outside garden oasis.
If you like pizza, you’ll love Pizzeria Beddia. Joe Beddia's pizza was once voted the best pizza in the country, and it’s no surprise that Time Magazine loves it as much as the locals. With a few, finely-tuned pizza recipes on the menu, a robust wine selection, and plates to share with the table, Pizzeria Beddia is a fast favorite.
R&D Philly is one of the most glamorous spots for cocktails in the city, and it was voted Best Cocktail Bar by Philadelphia Magazine in 2019. With an ever-evolving selection of hand-crafted cocktails, you’ll find a new favorite concoction every time you come. Two connected restaurants Cheu and Nunu each offer a flavorful menu, and their unique design allows you to order from either menu during your visit — whether you’re craving miso ramen and sake from Cheu or Japanese-inspired pub fares from Nunu, you can have it all!
Hiroki is an immersive Japanese restaurant rooted in tradition and technique. Executive Chef Hiroki Fujiyama focused on the art of omotenashi — harmony and attention to detail and the atmosphere of the restaurant is clean, simple, and straightforward. Guests enjoy seasonal, pre-fixe menus and sake pairings. While the food at Hiroki is excellent, the whole experience leaves you coming back for more.
For over 15 years, Johnny Brenda’s has been a landmark space for craft beer, delicious meals, and independent jams. It’s the “concert hall of the neighborhood,” providing great meals along with awesome performances, and is a unique place to visit for a classic, hometown experience. With locally-sourced ingredients and an open kitchen with a two-tier dining/entertainment space, Johnny Brenda’s is a can’t-miss neighborhood staple.

Recently renovated, this 125-year-old building offers a “rock-elegant” atmosphere, providing a classic and cutting-edge venue to the Philadelphia community. Situated along the picturesque Delaware River, Penn Treaty Park is bursting with historical significance. Rumor has it, William Penn signed a peace treaty with the local Lenape tribe in 1683 under a large elm tree by the river. The area officially became a park in 1894 and has since been a major community staple to the Fishtown community. The site is also home to the annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebration and features beautiful spots along the river for picnics and casual strolls.
The Fishtown Neighbors Association hosts an annual Meet the Neighbors festival every summer. Featuring delicious food stands from local vendors, craft beer, a children’s play area, live music, and raffle prizes, the Meet the Neighbors festival is the perfect event for Fishtown residents to come together and get to know one another. Each year, Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby and Arts Festival brings the community together with hand-crafted, human-powered floats that are fun for all.
